Triumph at the Top: Celebrating Our CEO's Excellence After Bagging an International Award

We take great pride in our acknowledgement in the 2023 Global CEO Excellence Awards organized by CEO Monthly. Our heartfelt congratulations go to our CEO at Image at Work, Tanya Naidoo, who has earned the distinction of being named Female CEO of the Year for Most Innovative Marketing and Branding in Gauteng.

The awards recognise the hard work and passion of CEOs across different industries globally.

CEO Monthly is a worldwide publication that consolidates insights and expertise from diverse sectors and industries globally. The CEO Monthly’s Global CEO Excellence Awards is a unique programme designed to honour visionary leaders who have made significant contributions to their companies, industries, and local communities.

Winning this award serves as a testament to our expertise in our industry and underscores the remarkable talent and skills of Tanya and our entire team.

This recognition arises in the context of ongoing conversations about gender equality and the insufficient presence of women in leadership roles within corporate South Africa. Tanya emerges as one of the courageous and resilient women steering successful companies in the predominantly male corporate environment.

“Worldwide, there is an imbalance in the number of female CEOs,” said Sofi Parry, senior editor at AI Global Media. “Often overlooked for leadership roles, women face many challenges before they are promoted to CEO position.”

Parry emphasized that women encounter challenges like gender stereotypes as they strive to advance into higher leadership roles.

As Tanya alluded to CEO Monthly magazine, the exclusion of women from top positions in the corporate world is not a new feature.

On her journey to where she is now, she experienced the common difficulties that many women face while navigating the corporate landscape to establish their presence at the pinnacle.

She pondered the scepticism with which women in business were regarded during the transition from the Apartheid era in South Africa to the new political dispensation.

“The corporate world, entrenched in a legacy of male dominance, posed substantial challenges to newcomers, especially female entrepreneurs,” she recalled. “Starting a business as a woman in this context was akin to challenging established giants, requiring not only innovation but also resilience in the face of systemic resistance.”

Research from Grant Thornton and PwC shows that women represent only 20% – 29% of senior management in South Africa, even though they are just over half the population.

Several female CEOs were honoured with the 2023 Global CEO Excellence Awards. Anna Kleissner, hailing from Austria, was recognised as the Most Influential Economic Research CEO of the year. Windy Elstermeier, based in the USA, earned the title of Most Innovative Growth and Strategy Consulting CEO of the year. Additionally, Manal Adam from the UK received the prestigious Poverty Prevention CEO of the Year award.

The above list is not exhaustive as many female CEOs from across the globe were recognised.
